Total Traffic Network and Global Alert Network Partner to Provide Accurate Traffic Information via Mobile Devices
Phone Alert Application Will Allow Drivers to Maintain “Hands Free” Environment
SAN ANTONIO and NEW YORK – February 9, 2011 – Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network (TTN) today announced a new partnership with Global Alert Network, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Global Traffic Network, Inc. (NASDAQ: GNET). TTN will provide traffic data and local support for Global Traffic Network’s traffic alerting system, the Global Alert Network – the first of its kind network in the United States that notifies drivers of accidents and delays through a voice-activated phone alert application.
Drivers will be able to maintain a "hands free" environment as audio reports are broadcast through the phone automatically and do not require the driver to answer or interact with the phone in any way. The Global Alert Network service is an ad supported, free application to consumers, and TTN will be providing high-quality traffic information including delays, accidents, construction and events.
“This partnership with Global Alert Network is a natural fit and we’re proud to extend our resources to the Global Alert Network,” said Lance Locher, Senior Vice President at Total Traffic Network. “This way of delivering notifications and alerts to motorists is creative and cost-effective, and is the future for providing accurate, real-time traffic information safely.”
“We are excited to be working with TTN on a national scale to offer reliable traffic data to drivers across the country,” said Scott Hughes, President of Global Alert Network. “We are confident that with TTN’s services, drivers can stay up-to-date with pertinent traffic information while on the road.”
