All-In-One Digital Music Service Will Feature Windows Phone’s Live Tiles; iHeartRadio to Be Featured as Part of Microsoft’s “Summer of Appiness”
 
NEW YORK – July 1, 2013 – Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, the leading media company with greater reach than any radio or television outlet in the U.S., today announced the launch of iHeartRadio's Windows Phone 8 app, extending the availability of the digital radio service to yet another platform. Windows Phone 8 users will now be able to access the music and features they love, including 1,500 live radio stations from across the country, mood-related stations “Perfect For” any activity and user-created Custom Stations that showcase more than 400,000 artists and 16 million songs. For two weeks beginning today, iHeartRadio will be featured in Microsoft’s “Summer of Appiness” campaign, which encourages customers to visit their local Microsoft retail store to experience the latest version of the app.

The iHeartRadio app has already amassed more than 180 million downloads across a variety of its platforms, making it one of the most popular free apps.  iHeartRadio’s Windows Phone 8 app will be fully integrated, giving users the ability to pin stations directly to the phone’s Start screen as a Live Tiles for quick launch and will allow users to view what’s playing without opening the app.
 
iHeartRadio Windows Phone 8 app features will include:
 
Live Radio – Access more than 1,500 of the nation’s most popular live broadcast and digital-only radio stations from 150 cities, spanning all genres.
Custom Stations – Create personalized stations by entering an artist or song and iHeartRadio will create a station including similar music. Listeners can also “Thumbs Up” or “Thumbs Down” music to indicate song preferences and further personalize stations.
“Perfect For” Stations – Choose from thousands of curated stations based on a range of moods and activities perfect for any given day and timeSleep Timer – Fall asleep listening to live or Custom Stations. The Sleep Timer can be set in time increments from 15 minutes to 3 hours.
Greater User Control – With iHeartRadio's unique “Discovery Tuner,” listeners can adjust a Custom Station to play familiar songs – or select “Less Familiar” to play a wider variety.Deeper Facebook integration – Share listening activity with friends via timelines and choose to share songs and stations to newsfeeds. This deeper Facebook integration serves as a means to further music discovery, making users’ digital radio experiences more personal and relevant.
