iHeartPodcasts and Acast Productions Return with Season 2 of Audio Documentary Series “Camp Shame”

Hosted by gender justice attorney, activist and queer ex-Mormon Kate Kelly, the 8-episode series investigates the history and ongoing impact of conversion therapy in Utah

WHAT: Acast Productions, an award winning creative podcast studio, and iHeartPodcasts, the No.1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, today announced the season two debut of its limited audio documentary series, "Camp Shame.”

This season will trace the rise, fall and shifting identity of conversion therapy in a state uniquely positioned in the crosshairs of this practice: Utah. It will tell the stories of Mormons who’ve undergone conversion therapy, the cultural climate that helped conversion programs thrive, and the distance yet left to go as conversion therapy re-enters headlines nearly three decades after the first conversion therapy ban was passed in the U.S.

WHO: Hosted by activist, attorney, feminist and queer ex-Mormon, Kate Kelly will draw on her personal experiences within the Mormon Church and bring a unique perspective to the investigation. After founding Ordain Women in 2013 to advocate for gender equality within the Church, she was publicly excommunicated in 2014. Now an outspoken advocate for gender justice, Kelly examines the intersection of religion, identity, and institutional power, shedding light on the systems that enabled conversion therapy to continue for decades.

WHEN: Season 2 of “Camp Shame” is available now, with the first episode premiering today, November 3, 2026. New episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays.

WHERE: “Camp Shame” is published by iHeartPodcasts. New episodes will be available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard. Listen now, HERE.

ABOUT KATE KELLY

Kate Kelly is a gender justice attorney and activist. She was raised Mormon, served a Mormon mission in Spain and graduated from Brigham Young University. In 2013 she founded a group called Ordain Women to call for gender equality in the Mormon Church, and for Mormon women to get the Priesthood. As a result of this unprecedented advocacy Kate was convicted of apostasy in a trial presided over by three male Mormon leaders. She was publicly excommunicated from the church in June 2014 for speaking out against the institutional oppression of women. After her excommunication Kate divorced her Mormon husband and came out as queer and now lives and works in New York City. Her work for gender equality continues unabated to this day.
