iHeartMedia and Superb Entertainment’s Smash Hit Podcast “Call Your Grandmother” Returns for Season Two
WHAT: iHeartMedia, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, and acclaimed film and television producer Meryl Poster, the founder of Superb Entertainment, announced today the season two launch of “Call YourGrandmother.” Fresh off an Ambies Award nomination for Best Wellness and Relationship Podcast, your favorite Jewish grandmothers, Rita and Ellin, are back with a new cast of extraordinary grandmas and grandkids and through intimate conversations, listeners will hear hard-earned wisdom from lives well-lived. Whether it’s flying planes, going on a USO tour with Bob Hope, or a date with Elvis Presley, nothing is off the table for these daring women. They’ll leave you laughing, crying, and inspired to live life to the fullest, no matter how old you are.
This season's guests will include the former pin up actress and singing star, Connie Stevens; entrepreneur and cosmetics pioneer Adrien Arpel and her grandchild Ashley; iHeartMedia's very own Will Pearson and his “Mamaw”; and “Call Your Grandmother” creator Meryl Poster’s mother Sue will return with another grandchild!
WHO: “Call Your Grandmother” is hysterically funny, inspiring and heartfelt. Hosted by two New York Grandmothers – 83-year-old Ellin Grodsky and 92-year-old Rita Kaye – the podcast celebrates Jewish grandmothers and the irreverent qualities that make them natural comedians. Rita and Ellin introduce you to some less-than-traditional grandmothers who have unbreakable bonds with their grandsons and granddaughters. These conversations open up a time capsule of what life was like way back when, and smother you with the cozy feeling of a grandmother’s love.

About Meryl Poster
Meryl Poster is an Academy Award-winning producer and filmmaker. She has overseen and developed a slate of groundbreaking, critically acclaimed films, including the Oscar winning : Chicago (EP), Chocolat (EP) and Cider House Rules (EP). Over the course of her career, she has produced the celebrated films Cop Land, Beautiful Girls, Bounce, Kate and Leopold, and An Unfinished Life. In addition, she has produced a wide-range of television programming that includes Project Runway and Project Runway All Stars, VH-1’s Mob Wives and , Bravo’s first-ever scripted series, Girlfriends Guide to Divorce (EP), which ran for five seasons. Meryl is the Founder and President of Superb Entertainment, an independent production company backed by A+E Networks, where she continues her legacy of identifying and developing projects of emotional and intellectual impact. She most recently served as executive producer on History Channel’s acclaimed series Six.
Prior to founding Superb, Meryl was President of Television for The Weinstein Company and Co-President of Production at Miramax Films. In this role, she supervised the production of beloved films Shakespeare in Love, Good Will Hunting, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Emma, Serendipity, Cold Mountain, Shall We Dance, Finding Neverland and Flirting with Disaster.
As a leading woman in entertainment, Meryl Poster is a vocal advocate for greater gender parity in Hollywood. She began her career as the second ever-female trainee in the William Morris mailroom. She has been featured in Premiere, W, Vanity Fair, Mademoiselle, Marie Claire, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, and Gotham and Glamour magazines. She was named one of the most powerful women in entertainment by Crain’s and was top-ranked in The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 for five consecutive years. In 2002, New York Women in Film and Television honored her with The Muse Award. She is currently a Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences; Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; New York Women in Film and Television; The British Academy of Film and Television; The Dean’s Council at Tulane University; the New Orleans’ Film Society; and the Creative Coalition.
Presently, Poster is producing two podcasts she created for iHeartRadio. “How to Produce a Divorce,” and “Call Your Grandmother.” She recently wrapped a pilot for HBOMax.
