NEW YORK – October 12, 2022 – iHeartMedia, the No.1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, and EEP Universe, an independent entertainment studio building heroic franchise fiction for younger fandoms, today announced the debut of “Nicki Fix’s Time Mix,” an iHeartRadio Original scripted podcast for teens and young adults.  The music-themed time travel comedy set in the 1990s will launch with two episodes on October 19, with subsequent episodes airing weekly on Wednesdays. Listeners can tune in to the official trailer here.

“Nicki Fix’s Time Mix” is a twelve-episode scripted series that follows aspiring pop star Nicki Fix and her two best friends as they try to save their local roller rink – and only performance venue – from destruction at the hands of a nefarious developer. When a freak accident blasts them back to 1996, they’ll have to navigate ancient tech, strange customs, and team up with younger versions of the adults in their lives to set things right. The production features original music by series writer Natalia Yanchak and Murray Lightburn of the Canadian indie rock band The Dears, and a special appearance by Babydaddy of the American glam rock band Scissor Sisters in a supporting role. Head Writer Cecil Castelucci was known as Cecil Seaskull in the ‘90s indie band Nerdy Girl.

“We’re thrilled to be putting out another incredible story with the EEP Universe,” said Will Pearson, Chief Operating Officer at iHeartMedia. “Right now we’re seeing listeners crave authentic, entertaining storytelling so it’s exciting to release a podcast like this that really immerses you right into the story.”

Recalling beloved time-travel comedy classics like “Back to the Future” and “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” “Nicki Fix’s Time Mix” has a strong retro setting for Gen X and Millennial nostalgia, while centering Gen Z characters as the heroes who have to navigate it. And the story’s surprising twists jump far into the future as well as the past, keeping listeners hooked until the very end.

“‘Nicki Fix’s Time Mix’ was something we’ve been dreaming of for a while – a lighter addition to our lineup of scripted audio thrillers,” said Heather Einhorn, CEO of EEP Universe and co-creator of the podcast. “It’s got everything we love from our favorite teen comedies: fun music, trippy sci-fi, and a really compelling premise. And the story is built around kids who are at that amazing age when you’re just starting to actualize your goals, if only you had a shot. Although this one’s for young adults, we know older listeners will love reminiscing about the ‘90s as much as we did when writing it.”

“Nicki Fix’s Time Mix” will join three other iHeartPodcast series as part of iHeartMedia and EEP’s overall slate deal featuring strong female characters and compelling storytelling for young adult listeners. Previous shows launched together include the political thriller “Daughters of DC,” the scripted mystery series “Lethal Lit,” and the teen horror “See You In Your Nightmares.”

“Nicki Fix’s Time Mix” is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and available on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard. Listeners can visit iHeart.com/apps to download iHeartRadio and listen on their favorite device anywhere they are.
