Clear Channel Radio Names Wendy Goldberg EVP for Marketing and Communications
SAN ANTONIO and NEW YORK, NY – February 7, 2011 – Clear Channel Radio today announced the appointment of Wendy Goldberg to the newly created position of Executive Vice President for Marketing and Communications, effective immediately. She will report to CCR President and CEO John Hogan.
“Clear Channel Radio offers a unique combination of national platforms with local market execution, and Wendy’s extensive experience in providing insightful communication counsel and developing and deploying strategic marketing campaigns will help us leverage that full potential moving forward,” said Hogan. “Her background in promoting and developing new media platforms will further support our expansion into the digital arena as we fully realize the power of the Clear Channel platform.”
In her new position, Goldberg will oversee and execute strategic programs to advance the nationally-recognized portfolio of Clear Channel Radio brands, and be responsible for Clear Channel Radio’s internal and external communications; marketing of CCR brands and products; business-to-business marketing support; and developing and coordinating strategy for local marketing efforts.
Goldberg joins Clear Channel Radio from Hearst Corporation, where she was vice president, business development and strategy for Hearst Entertainment & Syndication. Goldberg has more than 15 years experience in providing management and strategic counsel to companies and their senior leaders, including America Online and AOL Time Warner, Six Flags and the New York-based private equity firm Pilot Group.
At Pilot Group, Goldberg developed and directed communications strategies, positioning and tactics for the firm’s portfolio companies and served as senior adviser to Pilot Group leadership. As senior vice president, communications for Six Flags, Goldberg was a member of the company’s senior management team, responsible for all aspects of the company’s strategic communications, investor relations and public positioning. As Vice President of Communications at America Online and then at AOL Time Warner, Goldberg established and managed the communications strategy for the business, advertising and commerce aspects of the company’s operations and served as a company spokesperson.
She holds a master’s degree in public administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
